Ali + Leon | A Hobart Wedding Story
A beautiful Hobart, Tasmania love story by Photography with Cassie.
Forecast: 9 degrees. Hail.
But that didn’t matter in the slightest. Ali and Leon brought all the warmth needed to this fine day. There is no doubt in my mind that this was a marriage of true, true love. Ali’s love flows out of her in the most beautiful, exuberant, emotional, excited way. Leon is quieter but I watched him closely, as a photographer is want to do, and in the in-between moments, I saw his absolute care, love and adoration of Ali.
As I drove to the boys I realised I was racing the storm clouds. Leon was quiet and I think a little nervous but more than happy to duck outside between the rain showers. I glanced across the water a few times as the girls got ready, the snow cover heavy on the mountain, Ali’s excitement lighting up every room. At the church the wind was icy, unforgiving. Leon and the guests waited patiently for Ali, who along the way had had a car mishap or two. After a beautiful ceremony we ran out in the pouring rain and headed for Frogmore Creek. As we pulled up the sun decided it wanted to shine on Ali and Leon. The dark storm clouds drifted away and we all smiled. Don’t get me wrong, it was still freezing but persevere we did. Ali and Leon were the most willing of subjects, even when I (accidentally) made Ali stand in a puddle and water filled her shoes (sorry again Ali). We soon ventured inside to dry out in front of the gorgeous roaring open fire. The ceremony was an ode to family, friends and love, a stunning end to a perfect day.
Tasmania is a place of beauty and heart and Richmond and Frogmore Creek Winery didn’t disappoint. I can’t wait to be back in Tassie for more weddings this coming summer. Please enjoy this love story as much as I enjoyed being a part of Ali and Leon’s day.
Thank you and please share the love x
What a truly magical day it was from the start til finish. You have encapsulated the happiness and love shared by all throughout the celebrations… especially the beauty of my best friend, my sister on the biggest and most dreamed of day of her life- the warmth of her and Leons love was so infectious that it kept us smiling even outside in the very chilly afternoon air!! Amazing job Cassie x
Cassie, these are beautiful. And I think I love everything about Tassie, no matter where I have been or what I see here and other places, I love it. It’s my favourite state. Now back to these photos – these are such a beautiful collection. I especially love the tender moment you have captured in the church with the tear running down her face – beautiful and I love the other tender, quiet moments towards the end of the photos before the reception, but all lovely Cassie, well done 🙂
